Campus Resources

  1. Our educational and awareness campaign, “Abuse Hurts: Recognize, Respond and Refer,” encompasses promotional materials, posters and wallet cards. Posters and wallet safety cards may be downloaded and placed in prominent, frequently trafficked areas to promote awareness of our campus resources to respond to domestic violence.
  2. The University of Michigan Police Department on the Ann Arbor campus is a resource for any member of the University community who wants to seek assistance, get consultation, or report a crime related to domestic, dating or sexual violence at (734) 763-1131 (24-hour dispatch) and dpss.umich.edu/. In an emergency, dial 911.

    At UM-Dearborn, contact Police and Public Safety at (313) 593-5333 (24-hour dispatch) and umdearborn.edu/offices/police-public-safety.

    At UM-Flint, contact the Department of Public Safety at (810) 762-3335 and umflint.edu/safety/department-public-safety.

  3. Ann Arbor and Flint Campus faculty and staff and their family members may contact the Faculty and Staff Counseling and Consultation Office (FASCCO) for any personal concerns related to domestic violence at 734-936-8660 and fascco.umich.edu.

  4. Michigan Medicine employees and family members may contact the Office of Counseling and Workplace Resilience for any personal concerns related to domestic violence at 734-763-5409 and hr.umich.edu/office-counseling-workplace-resilience.

  5. Dearborn Campus faculty and staff and their family members may contact the Faculty and Staff Counseling and Consultation Office (FASCCO) at Dearborn's Office of Counseling and Support Services at 313-593-5430 and fascco.umich.edu.

  6. Flint Campus faculty and staff and their family members may contact the Faculty and Staff Counseling and Consultation Office (FASCCO) for any personal concerns related to domestic violence at 734-936-8660 and fascco.umich.edu.

  7. Faculty, staff, and students may contact the Sexual Assault and Prevention Awareness Center (SAPAC) in the case of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking and sexual harassment at their business line 734-998-9368 or their confidential 24-hour crisis line 734-936-3333 and sapac.umich.edu.

  8. The Michigan Medicine Abuse Prevention Initiative assists patients who are experiencing abuse and provides resources for both the public and U-M health care professionals. For assistance pertaining to child abuse please call the Child Protection Team at: 734-763-0215. For assistance pertaining to intimate partner violence/domestic violence, vulnerable adult abuse or sexual assault please call the Guest Assistance Program (GAP) at: 800-888-9825 or visit med.umich.edu/abusehurts.

  10. The University of Michigan Department of Psychology offers Kids' Club and Moms' Empowerment Program, a free intervention program for mothers and their children who have experienced domestic violence. It is part of an on-going intervention study directed by Prof. Sandra Graham-Bermann.  Families can participate in the free intervention program and can also choose to participate in a series of interviews that help evaluate the program's effectiveness.  Kids’ and Moms’ groups are available frequently throughout the year.  Call 734-615-7082 or fill out the contact form for more information.
